Aquatic Population Health and Welfare

Welcome to Aquatic Population Health and Welfare (APHAW) at the Institute of Aquaculture, University of Stirling.

The Aquatic Population Health and Welfare group evolved from our research in aquatic animal epidemiology and welfare. It now consists of 8 people, including staff (Jimmy Turnbull, Darren Green, and Ryan Kaye) and PhD students, with a further 5 PhD students partly supervised by the group and 1 more member of staff (Dave Morris) shared with Parasitology.

We are collaborating with 13 members of staff from Aquaculture and other departments in Stirling and have active links with 28 academic and commercial organisations worldwide.

The group is working closely together on projects using population based models and analysis to answer a wide range of questions from applied control of specific diseases, through methods to monitor welfare to theoretical network modelling.
